Change of season? Review your business security processes

A new season brings with it a number of new challenges, and in the case of winter you may expect a whole lot more of rain,
wind and chilly temperatures!
This change of weather pattern can be quite a dampener on business security, as overhanging branches, shadowy areas
and faulty security alarms and cameras can reduce the effectiveness of your security system.
Help ensure a high level of security for your business throughout winter with these top tips!
Ensure security products are in good order
Severe winds, as well as rain and ice, can cause some security products to malfunction.
Make sure to regularly check your alarms, cameras and other security systems to ensure that they are working well
through the winter.
If you've found that some of your security products have become faulty, speak to your security specialists about
getting products that are more durable and weather-resistant.
Security lights
It becomes darker a lot faster during winter, so during the afternoon you may find certain dark spots that aren't
covered by your security system.
You can combat this problem by installing security lights to sweep along these darkened areas.
Check your doors and windows
The winter elements can sometimes cause some damage to doors and windows, so ensure that all your
company's windows and doors can still securely lock.
If not, a thief may be able to pry open a loose lock and break in. If your locks are just teetering on or you've noticed
that a window frame is dangerously loose, make sure to get these promptly replaced.
Cut away overhanging branches
Strong winds can cause branches to break and hang over your building, so make sure to cut these away to ensure
that they don't obstruct the view of your security cameras.
Make a note to remove any debris that is covering or could potentially obstruct your cameras.
